Personal Auto Insurance

Start your quote

Personal auto insurance covers your car, the driver, and anyone else on the road if you’re in an accident. In Florida, the state requires every driver to carry Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Property Damage Liability, and most lenders require full coverage if you’re financing a vehicle. We write personal auto policies for drivers across Florida.

What's covered

Tap any item to see what it means in plain language.

Liability (bodily injury & property damage)

If you cause an accident, this pays for the other person's injuries and their car or property. It protects your savings, because without it those bills come out of your pocket.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

Florida's required no-fault coverage. It pays a portion of your own medical bills and lost wages after an accident, no matter who caused it.

Collision

Pays to repair or replace your own car after an accident, whether you hit another car or an object. Required by most lenders if you're financing or leasing.

Comprehensive

Covers your car for things that aren't a collision, like theft, vandalism, a cracked windshield, or storm damage. In Florida, that includes hurricane and flood damage to the vehicle.

Uninsured / underinsured motorist

If the other driver has no insurance, or not enough, this steps in to cover your injuries. Florida has one of the highest uninsured driver rates in the country, so this one earns its keep.

Roadside & rental reimbursement

Optional add-ons. Roadside covers towing and breakdowns; rental reimbursement pays for a rental car while yours is in the shop after a covered claim.

What's not covered

Wear and tear or mechanical breakdown

Insurance covers sudden accidents, not maintenance. A worn transmission or old brakes are repair-shop items, not claims.

Personal belongings stolen from the car

A laptop or phone taken from your car is typically covered by your homeowners or renters policy, not your auto policy.

Rideshare or delivery driving

Driving for Uber, DoorDash, or similar apps needs a specific endorsement. Without it, a claim during a delivery or ride can be denied.

Intentional damage or DUI

Damage you cause on purpose, or while driving under the influence, is excluded across the board.

Good to know in Florida

  • Florida is a no-fault state, so your own PIP coverage pays your medical bills after an accident regardless of who caused it.
  • Florida has one of the highest rates of uninsured drivers in the country, which makes uninsured motorist coverage worth a real look, not just a checkbox.
  • If you're financing or leasing, your lender will require collision and comprehensive coverage until the loan is paid off.

How our quoting works

We shop it around

Tell us about your vehicle and driving history, and we compare options across our appointed carriers to find coverage that fits, not just the first quote that comes back.

Helpful to have handy

  • The VIN, or the year, make, and model
  • Your current policy or declarations page, if you have one
  • The address where the car is kept overnight

Frequently asked questions

Does Florida require PIP coverage on my car?

Yes. Florida requires every registered vehicle to carry at least $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection (PIP), which pays your own medical bills after an accident regardless of who caused it.

What is an SR-22 and do I need one?

An SR-22 is a form your insurer files with the state to confirm you carry the required minimum coverage, usually after a serious violation like a DUI or driving without insurance. Not everyone needs one. We can tell you quickly whether your situation requires it.

Can I bundle my auto and home insurance?

Often yes. As an independent agency, we can look at bundling your auto with home, renters, or other policies where a carrier offers it, which can simplify billing and sometimes help with pricing. We'll check what's available for your situation.

Can I insure more than one car on the same policy?

Yes, most carriers we work with allow multiple vehicles on a single policy, which usually simplifies billing and can help with pricing depending on the carrier and your driving history.
